If you're ever at a comedy show and a comedian starts cracking jokes on you the best thing to do is laugh along with everyone else. Pretty soon the comic will realize you're not going to give them more ammunition to continue throwing darts and will move on.
Santa Fe resident Christian Englander apparently didn't get the memo. He got upset at Dave Chappelle for clowning his friend. Englander retaliated by throwing a banana peel at Dave.
Dave responded in hilarious fashion.
"Who just threw a banana peel? Would you guys like to see your favorite comedian beat the sh*t out of somebody? First of all I am not gonna let white people ruin bananas for me," Chappelle joked. "Corey just jumped off the stage. Corey's one of my black friends from Harlem. Corey when you find that motherf*cker, do not f*ck around. Bring him to me. First I'm gonna kill him with my comedy. Then I'm going to kick him in his f*cking face. By the way these are empty threats. I haven't kicked a fan in the face since '96."
The whole thing went down at the Lensing Performing Arts Center on Monday, March 30.
Dave couldn't understand why the fan had a banana at the show to begin with.
"I can't believe that not only did somebody throw a banana on stage I can't believe they had a banana on them the entire time," he said. "And why was the banana peel so brown? He was probably saving this banana to do this to me. Why didn't he throw a good banana at me? Just the brown peel? Where's the rest of it? I am actually offended by the poor quality of the banana. It was brown, man."
TMZ reports that Englander was arrested and booked for battery and disorderly conduct.
