Michael Brown’s Stepfather’s Outrage May Cost Him His Freedom [Video]

Formal investigation underway on Michael Brown's Stepfather Louis Head

If things weren’t horrific enough in Ferguson already, CNN now reports that the Ferguson Police Department is launching a full investigation on Michael Brown’s stepfather, Louis Head, for possibly inciting a riot in Ferguson.

After the grand jury’s decision was announced last week, Michael Brown’s stepfather was caught on video, in an obvious state of emotion, yelling to an enormous crowd gathered around him, “Burn this place down! Burn this b***h down!”
After Police Chief Tom Jackson states that an investigation is formally underway to determine if Louis Head intentionally incited a riot, as reported by USA Today. While an arrest has not yet been made, police are interviewing friends of Head as well as people who were with him on November 24 after the announcement was made that Officer Darren Wilson would not be indicted in the shooting of Michael Brown.
Michael Brown’s mother, Lesley McSpadden, was the first to address the crowd that night after the verdict was given. Her comments and emotional breakdown are what spurred Head to his rants addressing the crowd, as reported by CNN.
“I’ve lived here my whole life. I ain’t never had to go through nothing like this. Don’t none of y’all know me, but I don’t do nothing to nobody. Anybody say so, they’re a liar.”
It was at that moment McSpadden broke down, and Head grabbed and hugged her in support for a few brief moments before breaking out in angry shouts to the mob yelling to burn the place down.
As a result, whether directly or indirectly, CNN reports that at a row of at least twelve businesses were burned to the ground. Those were the same businesses that were trying to build their businesses back up after the riots and looting just after Michael Brown’s shooting in August.

Police cars and other vehicles at a dealership were also set on fire. CNN reports there were so many buildings and vehicles engulfed in flames that firefighters couldn’t stand a chance in putting them all out. It was impossible.

USA Today reports that Police Chief Jackson admits that charges against Head are possible.
“We are pursing those comments, and there is a lot of discussion going on about that right now.”
However, Jackson has made it very clear that the police are not singling out Louis Head.
“We can’t let all that happened in Ferguson and Dellwood and the community die. Everyone who is responsible for taking away people’s property, their livelihoods, their jobs, their businesses — every single one of them needs to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

On the other hand, Benjamin Crump, the Brown family attorney, while saying Head’s remarks were inappropriate, he asks the public to recognize their hurt and frustration and reminds us all that they are only human, and have repeatedly asked for protestors to remain peaceful. With that being said, however, Crump makes it clear on his stance for what is right and wrong, according to CNN.
“We don’t condone people acting on emotion calling for people to do irresponsible things at all…. And they can’t control what others do. They can control what they pray for.”
Jackson states the police have not yet spoken directly with Michael Brown’s stepfather. But it doesn’t help that many, including Missouri Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder, strongly feel Louis Head should be arrested and charged with inciting a riot.
