Kheris Rogers in ‘Queen of Pearls’

10-year-old designer stuns in new photo series.

No child should grow up with low self-confidence, but that was the case for 10-year-old Kheris Rogers, who was bullied by her classmates for her darker skin.

After changing schools to escape the teasing, her older sister, Taylor Pollard, set out on a mission to help boost her sister’s confidence.

In March, Pollard posted pictures of Rogers on Twitter calling her baby sis “royalty,” along with the hashtag #FlexinInHerComplexion. The tweet currently has more than 100,000 likes and shares, along with an endless thread of compliments.

The positive words not only helped raise Rogers’s self-esteem, but they inspired her to start her own unapologetic clothing line, Flexin’ in My Complexion (check out her merch!)
