6-year-old brings suspected heroin to school to show teacher

A 6-year-old Queens boy went to school Friday morning carrying a container with suspected heroin inside, law-enforcement sources told The Post.
The child innocently brought the stash of white powder to PS 209 in Whitestone in his backpack and showed it to his teacher, sources said.
The teacher immediately notified higher-ups, and the police were called.
The substance is being tested, but preliminary results show it to be heroin, sources said.
Cops were questioning the 6-year-old kid’s mother, sources said.
A spokesperson for the Department of Education called the incident “troubling,” adding that any actions would follow an NYPD investigation.
“Nothing is more important than the safety of students and staff,” the spokesperson, Toya Holness, said.
