DETAILS INSIDE:
Los Angeles Times reports the Crenshaw
representative was stopped for a traffic violation
around 11 pm. Burbank police discovered Nipsey had
an outstanding warrant for driving with a suspended
license.
Nipsey reportedly gave the officers permission to
search his vehicle. He was then taken into custody
after police discovered a codeine bottle without a
label.
The “Feelin’ Myself” rapper could not produce a
prescription for the medication. Codeine is often used
to make sizzurp (aka purple drank).
According to police, Nipsey (born Ermias Asghedom)
was arrested for suspicion of possessing a controlled
substance and the outstanding warrant. He was later
released after posting $1,000 bail.
