Broadway’s shooting death comes on the heels of the murder trial of Michael Dunn, who was found guilty on February 15 of three counts of attempted second-degree murder and one count of hurling a deadly missile after he shot into an SUV full of teenagers, killing 17-year-old Jordan Davis.
A jury deadlocked on whether or not Davis’ death was premeditated, so the first-degree murder charge ended in mistrial.
Florida state special prosecutor Angela Corey has stated that her office will seek to retry Dunn on the first-degree murder charge.
