The murder trial of singer Vybz Kartel was adjourned to June 10 after a witness failed to appear in court on Monday.
Kartel, whose real name is Adijah Palmer, is jointly charged with Lenburgh McDonald and Nigel Thompson in the July 2011 murder of St Catherine businessman Barrington ‘Bossy’ Bryan, who was gunned down by men travelling in a motor vehicle.
The trial was first adjourned in February after the prosecution told the court that the main witness in the case was being uncooperative.
The prosecution says it intends to take steps to have the trial take place without the witness, and to have the statement of the witness entered into evidence.
The dancehall DJ has been in custody despite a $3 million dollar bail.
He is facing another murder charge in the death of Clive 'Lizard' Williams, who was reportedly killed over a missing gun in August 2011.
Kartel and several others including Calvin Hay, entertainer Shawn 'Shawn Storm' Campbell, Andre St John, Kahira Jones and Shane Williams have been charged with Williams’ death.
Williams’ body has not been found.
